A woman employee posted at the Secretariat in the state capital Lucknow has accused Wali Mohammad Qureshi, a resident of Siyana in Bulandshahr, of rape. According to her complaint, the accused not only sexually assaulted her but also extorted ₹6 lakh from her. Moreover, she alleged that he pressured her to convert her religion.
In addition, he threatened to make her obscene videos viral. As a result, distressed and helpless, the victim approached Mahanagar police station and filed a complaint. Subsequently, the police registered an FIR and started searching for the accused.
According to Mahanagar Inspector Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, the victim stated that Wali Mohammad Qureshi first contacted her under the pretext of investing money in the stock market to earn higher returns. Gradually, he started talking to her regularly. Then, by misleading her, he obtained her home address. After that, he came to Lucknow and took money from her in the name of stock market investment before leaving.
Meanwhile, the accused continued to demand money repeatedly. Later, he forced a friendship and began pressuring herfor marriage. Furthermore, the victim claimed that he extorted a total of ₹6 lakh from her. She also alleged that he secretly recorded obscene videos of her. Thereafter, by threatening her, he took her to several hotels and raped her. In addition, she said that he often came to her rented room and acted according to his own will.
Additionally, the victim alleged that Wali Mohammad Qureshi threatened her by saying that if she did not obey him, he would make her obscene videos viral in the Secretariat. Moreover, he threatened to kill her family members. Because ofthis fear, she kept tolerating everything since 2023. He also warned her that he would defame her and get her removed from her job. Therefore, in exchange for not viralising the videos, the accused used to extort money from her every month.
Pressured Her to Convert to Islam and Wear a Hijab
Furthermore, the victim stated that the accused imposed restrictions on her and her sisters. He did not allow her to meet her sisters. Additionally, he pressured her to adopt Islam and insisted that she wear a hijab while stepping out of the house. However, whenever she refused, he threatened her. Finally, the victim said that her life is in danger due to the accused. Therefore, she has demanded police protection and strict action against him.
