Exquisite wooden furniture from Saharanpur, Bhadohi carpets, Amroha gamchas and sadris, Sitapur durries and towels, and Banarasi silk sarees will be highlighted at the upcoming event. More than 160 entrepreneurs from various districts of Uttar Pradesh will present handicrafts, handloom pieces and a diverse range of traditional products. Selected participants will receive dona-making machines, popcorn machines, honey boxes and other modern tools to support their business expansion. Outstanding Gramodyog units will also be honoured with state-level awards. The Khadi Mahotsav 2025 aims to strengthen local entrepreneurship and make a significant contribution to the rural economy.
A Platform for Rural Industries, Innovation and Market Linkages
The ten-day Khadi Mahotsav 2025, scheduled from November 21 to 30 at Central Sanskrit University in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, aims to promote local enterprises, while also opening new markets for traditional art forms and khadi-based industries, thereby enhancing rural self-reliance. The event will be inaugurated by Rakesh Sachan, Minister for MSME, Khadi and Village Industries, Sericulture, Handloom and Textiles. Furthermore, participants will showcase wooden craft from Saharanpur, Bhadohi carpets, Amroha textiles, Sitapur durries, Banarasi silk, amla products from Pratapgarh, royal honey from Lucknow, clay items, Bikaneri papad, leather goods, jackets, garments and numerous other indigenous creations.
During the festival, entrepreneurs and beneficiaries will be recognised, with state-level units receiving awards. Five beneficiaries will receive dough-making machines, five will receive popcorn machines, five will be given honey boxes, four electric potter wheels, and one participant will receive a pugmill. The initiative focuses on improving access to resources, modern equipment and growth avenues for village industries.
Aligned with CM Yogi’s vision, Khadi Mahotsav 2025 serves as a key platform to uplift rural industries, promote local craftsmanship, empower artisans and strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s grassroots economy. The event is expected to foster innovation, encourage business expansion and create fresh opportunities for entrepreneurs across the state.
