CM Yogi Targets Critics: Intent of Those Avoiding Vande Mataram Is Suspect, No Place for Such People in India

CM Yogi said that during the freedom struggle, 15 provinces had proposed Sardar Patel’s name for the post of Prime Minister, but Congress did not give him that honour and prevented him from becoming PM.

While addressing a public gathering in Barabanki, CM Yogi said that some people live and eat in India but still hesitate to say Vande Mataram. He stated that their intentions have now become clear and such people should be identified, because those who oppose Vande Mataram are essentially opposing Bharat Mata, and there should be no place for them in the country.

Allegations Against Foreign Rule

Yogi said that the British government never wanted India to remain united, which is why they consistently pursued divisive policies. Foreign rulers, he added, always work to weaken the people and break national unity—something visible even during the Mughal era.

Inauguration of Development Projects

In Fatehpur, Barabanki, the CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 254 development projects worth ₹1,734 crore. He also announced the creation of an industrial zone spread over 232 acres in Kursi area and an industrial corridor covering 220 hectares near the Purvanchal Expressway in Haidergarh.

Partition Described as a British Conspiracy

Yogi said that India had remained united for thousands of years, but during the British era its various parts began to separate. The most tragic incident, he said, was the partition on 14 August 1947, orchestrated by the British to weaken India. He added that Sardar Patel’s firm resolve ensured the peaceful integration of 563 princely states into India.

Attack on the Congress

CM Yogi said that during the freedom struggle, 15 provinces had proposed Sardar Patel’s name for the post of Prime Minister, but Congress did not give him that honour and prevented him from becoming PM.

Reference to Junagadh and Hyderabad

According to Yogi, the Nawab of Junagadh and the Nizam of Hyderabad did not want to join the Indian Union and hoped to remain independent. Patel made it clear that if they would not agree through dialogue, other measures were available. After pressure mounted, both eventually fled to Pakistan.

Mention of Mohammadabad

The CM said that nearby Mohammadabad (now Mahmoodabad) should open the eyes of so-called secularists. The local Nawab, he said, was the treasurer of the Muslim League and used India’s wealth against India to support Pakistan. His actions were mischievous, and he too fled to Pakistan.

Allegations Against SP–Congress on Farmers’ Issues

Yogi accused the Samajwadi Party and Congress—whom he called dynastic parties—of turning Uttar Pradesh into a BIMARU state and pushing farmers towards starvation. He claimed that farmers are now prosperous and earning double profits. He also said that it was the BJP government under PM Modi that gave Sardar Patel his due honour.

Plan to Develop Barabanki as an Industrial Hub

Reiterating his announcement, the CM said that a massive industrial area will be developed on 232 acres in Barabanki and an industrial corridor on 220 hectares near Haidergarh, which will bring investment for both farmers and industries.

CM’s Visit Amid Tight Security

This was the CM’s first visit after the Delhi blast, though he did not comment on the incident from the stage. The district administration had made elaborate security arrangements, with police and PAC personnel deployed across the entire area.
