CM Yogi inaugurated the Yuva Sahkar Sammelan and UP Cooperative Expo-2025 on Sunday (December 21) at Jupiter Hall, Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, as part of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025. On the occasion, a laghu film (short documentary) highlighting the achievements and innovations of the Sahkarita Vibhag (Cooperation Department) was screened.
During the programme, CM Yogi Adityanath and former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu jointly released a pustika (booklet). The Chief Minister also felicitated officials and stakeholders for utkrisht karya (outstanding work), including the current District Magistrates of Varanasi and Maharajganj. Loan cheques were also distributed under various government schemes.
CM Yogi honoured Satyendra Kumar, current DM of Varanasi, for his significant role in the sarvangin vikas (overall development) and guidance of the cooperative sector in Maharajganj, Barabanki, and Varanasi. Santosh Kumar Sharma, current DM of Maharajganj, was also awarded for enrolling the highest number of members—1.22 lakh—and adding 28,000 online members under the M-PACS Sadasyata Mahabhiyan-2025.
Major relief for small and marginal farmers
Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi Adityanath announced a badi saugat (major relief) for laghu evam seemant kisaan(small and marginal farmers). He noted that the interest rate of the UP Sahkari Gram Vikas Bank currently stands at around 11.5%, which places a heavy burden on farmers. The government is now moving to reduce this rate, and eligible farmers will receive loans at just 6% interest. Under the Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, loans will be provided through LDB, with the remaining interest subsidy borne by the Rajya Sarkar (State Government).
Cheques distributed to CM Yuva Udyami Yojana beneficiaries
CM also handed over loan cheques under the CM Yuva Udyami Yojana through the UP State Cooperative Bank Limited. Beneficiaries Ajay Pratap Singh and Danishta Fatima received loans of ₹5 lakh each, encouraging rozgar srijan (employment generation).
