Following the strict warning issued by BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary, BJP MLAs have withdrawn from meetings of representatives belonging to specific castes. As a result, a special meeting planned for January 5, 2026, is now uncertain. Chaudhary clearly said that such activities do not match the BJP’s constitutional values and traditions.
Earlier, the state president gave strong instructions regarding recent meetings of BJP MLAs based on caste identity. He warned them not to fall into negative and caste-driven politics. According to a media report, during the Assembly session, some representatives had organised a special meal. During this gathering, they reportedly discussed issues related to their own community. Therefore, Chaudhary spoke to them and advised greater caution in the future.
Moreover, the state president said such actions send the wrong message to the public. He also made it clear that any similar activity in the future would be treated as indiscipline. He added that under PM Modi’s development-focused and nationalist politics, caste-based politics is losing ground in the state. Meanwhile, parties like the SP, BSP, and Congress, which rely on caste politics, face an uncertain future. According to him, these parties are making random attacks against the BJP. In contrast, BJP representatives are expected to work within party discipline and dignity.

In the state, there are 52 Brahmin MLAs, out of which 46 belong to the BJP. A few days ago, a meeting of Thakur MLAs was held. Subsequently, on December 23, Brahmin MLAs also held a meeting. Because of this, several political interpretations were made. Around the same time, PM Modi visited Lucknow and inaugurated the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal. Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak was also present at the event.
Later in the evening, it emerged that Pathak had gone to Delhi. The next morning, a photograph of him with the Prime Minister surfaced. Consequently, speculation intensified. The sudden meeting is seen as politically important, especially since the BJP recently appointed a new state president. In addition, talks of a possible cabinet expansion have added tothe significance of this meeting.
Some political observers link the meeting to Brajesh Pathak’s growing influence within the party. They argue that he is one of the strongest Brahmin faces in the ruling establishment. Although he was not present at the Brahmin MLAs’ meeting, his interaction with the PM is being viewed through that lens as well.
However, how much representation he can secure for the community will be known with time. Still, it is believed that he conveyed the community’s message to the Prime Minister. On his part, Brajesh Pathak said the meeting was purely a courtesy call. He stated that he sought the Prime Minister’s guidance and thanked him for giving time.
Additionally, Pathak mentioned that the National Volleyball Championship will be held in Varanasi on January 4. Varanasi Mayor Ashok Tiwari, who was present with him, formally invited the Prime Minister to attend the championship.
