A grand celebration of Deepotsav is being held in Ayodhya today. In the city, Lord Shri Ram was welcomed and honoured just like in the Treta Yuga, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed his coronation. After that, he also delivered an address from the venue.
CM Yogi performed Shri Ram’s coronation at Ramkatha Park
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed the coronation of Lord Shri Ram at Ramkatha Park in Ayodhya. As soon as the coronation ceremony of Shri Ram took place, the entire premises echoed with chants of “Jai Shri Ram.” Yogi Adityanath applied a tilak and offered garlands and performed aarti of Ram, Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughna, and Guru Vashishtha.
A living experience of the Treta Yuga
On the occasion of Deepotsav in Ayodhya, the image of the Treta Yuga came alive once again. Artists portraying Ram, Lakshman, Sita, and Hanuman arrived at Ramkatha Park via a helicopter, symbolising the Pushpak Viman. Chief Minister Yogi and other ministers welcomed them. After a devotional invocation, a presentation of Bharat Milap took place. Many saints, seers, public representatives, and BJP leaders, including Champat Rai, were present.
29,25,051 lamps decorated at Ram Ki Paidi
A total of 29,25,051 lamps were arranged at Ram Ki Paidi. A new world record is to be set by lighting 26,11,101 lamps during the Deepotsav. For this grand event, 33,000 volunteers have been assigned responsibilities. Yogi Ji emphasised that lamps should also be lit in the huts of saints because these lamps are symbols of our struggles. Afterwards, CM Yogi also participated in the Saryu Aarti.
Where bullets once fired, lamps now shine
Yogi said that today Ayodhya is welcoming devotees of Sanatan Dharma from across the country and abroad. Devotees from every corner of the state are coming to Ayodhya to visit Lord Ram Lalla, and development is underway here too.
He said this is the same Uttar Pradesh where the poor are receiving toilets, free ration since the time of COVID, and under the Ayushman scheme, health coverage of up to five lakh rupees is being provided. Today, a sense of Ram Rajya is being experienced. People now suffer no misery—neither natural, social, nor material.
CM Yogi said that earlier, riots were common during festivals, but now law and order have been established in the state. Now people can imagine peace in the state. In the past eight years, Uttar Pradesh has been freedfrom mafia and hooliganism.
Now the state’s identity is no longer under threat, criminals are fearful, farmers are satisfied, youth are getting opportunities, women are safe, and joy is visible on people’s faces. Where once there was violence, today lamps are being lit.
Attack on SP-Congress: Where they fired bullets, we’re lighting lamps
CM said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a grand Ram Temple has been built in Ayodhya. Criticising the Congress, he said they once denied the very existence of Lord Ram and considered Him a myth.
He accused the SP government of firing bullets on Ram devotees during the Ram Temple movement under their rule. Today, at those same spots, we are lighting lamps. They locked the temple; we are liberating faith. Today, Ayodhya has become a symbol of heritage and development. These are the same people who visit the graves of foreign invaders but didn’t attend the consecration of Ram Lalla even after being invited.
An attempt was made to suppress faith
Yogi Adityanath said this Deepotsav symbolises the victory of a 500-year-long struggle. Even after India’s independence, cultural freedom was not achieved. Some people tried to crush Sanatan tradition and faith, but today Lord Shri Ram is enthroned in a grand temple. For five centuries, Sanatanis fought for their sacred site.
Deepotsav greetings to all followers of Sanatan Dharma
CM began his address from Ramkatha Park with the chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Saryu Maiya Ki Jai.” He extended greetings for Deepotsav 2025 and said Ayodhya is the city where Dharma incarnated in human form.
In 2017, Deepotsav began with the lighting of 1,71,000 lamps, and today, millions of lamps are illuminating the entire city. He called this event a tradition born from public cooperation and expressed gratitude to everyone.
