Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (December 25) inaugurated the Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow, calling it a symbol of self-respect, pride, and service to the nation. While addressing the inauguration ceremony, he said that the new site would inspire citizens to dedicate every effort towards nation-building. He congratulated Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and the entire country on the occasion. According to the Prime Minister, “Sabka Prayas” is essential for building a developed India.
Tribute to National Icons
Meanwhile, PM recalled the contribution of Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee, highlighting his firm stand against having two constitutions and two flags in one country. He expressed satisfaction that the BJP government fulfilled Dr Mukherjee’s vision by abrogating Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.
At the same time, PM Modi pressed the ceremonial button to formally inaugurate the Rashtra Prerna Sthal. He also unveiled massive bronze statues of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee, and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
Crores Moved Out of Poverty
Furthermore, the Prime Minister remembered Jan Sangh leader Deendayal Upadhyaya and his philosophy of Integral Humanism. He said that crores of citizens are now benefiting from government welfare schemes. According to him, true secularism means ensuring dignity and equal opportunities for all citizens. Over the past decade, he added, millions of Indians have successfully come out of poverty.
Atal Ji’s Role in Good Governance and Infrastructure
In addition, PM Modi said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee brought the idea of good governance to the grassroots level.Earlier, governance was often limited to slogans, but Atal Ji implemented it on the ground. He noted that Vajpayee’s policies played a crucial role in developing the telecom sector. Moreover, the initiative to connect villages through roads began during Atal Ji’s tenure. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, around eight lakh kilometres of rural roads were built, while nearly four lakh kilometres have been constructed in the last 11 years.
CM Yogi Recalls Atal Ji’s Vision
Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath began his address with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” He welcomed the Prime Minister and remembered the contributions of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. He said these national leaders would continue to guide future generations.
Referring to Atal Ji’s famous words, CM Yogi said that Vajpayee once predicted that darkness would fade and the lotus would bloom, and today, that vision is becoming a reality.
Lucknow Honours Its National Leaders
Finally, CM Yogi stated that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was honoured with the Bharat Ratna, reflecting the nation’s gratitude. He added that Lucknow has always respected and celebrated the legacy of great national figures, giving them the honour they truly deserve.
