Famous hairdresser Jawed Habib and his son Anos were searched by Sambhal police at their residence in Delhi’s Friends Colony, but both were found missing. The police conducted a search of the house with a warrant. Now, an investigation will be carried out in Mumbai.
SP Krishna Kumar Vishnoi said that a notice was issued to Jawed and Anos Habib to appear before the police by October 12 in connection with a ₹5 crore fraud case, but they failed to appear.
After this, a team from Raiesatti police station went to their Delhi home, where Jawed’s sister said they were not present. Despite the search, they weren’t found. Now, a police team will be sent to Mumbai.
Jawed Habib, his son, and Saiful booked in 32 cases
SP Vishnoi stated that in the ₹5 crore fraud case, 32 cases have been registered at Raiesatti police station against hairdresser Jawed Habib, his son Anos, and Saiful, a resident of Mohalla Nai Sarai, Sambhal. These are all linked to fraud through coin investments.
So far, 47 victims have come forward. Action is being taken based on their complaints. Many victims had taken loans to invest. They were lured with promises of high returns.
Property Seizure to Be Initiated
The SP said that three days ago, Jawed Habib’s lawyer visited the police station. He was instructed that the defrauded money should be returned and that full cooperation should be given in the investigation. If not, their assets may be seized.
Women Among the Victims
As the case unfolded, more victims came forward, including many women. Once the matter was exposed, these women shared their ordeal with their families. Some complaints have led to action. Several women haven’t filed complaints yet, but are facing domestic distress. They, too, were misled by promises of high returns.
