After the firing incident at Disha Patani’s house in Baghpat, the district’s name has now also surfaced in a case of arms smuggling from Pakistan. Delhi Police have arrested several traffickers involved in bringing weapons from Pakistan, and among them are Rohan Tomar of Lohadda and his associate Ajay alias Monu of Bawli. Moreover, their families have been living in Delhi for many years. Both are members of the Sanjeev alias Jeeva gang, and cases are already registered against them in Meerut’s Kankerkhera and Delhi’s Bhajanpura. On Saturday (November 22), Delhi Police arrested four members of the gang that was smuggling weapons into India by dropping them through drones sent from Pakistan.

These four also include Rohan Tomar of Lohadda and his partner Ajay alias Monu of Bawli. During interrogation, police found that Rohan Tomar studied up to Class 12 and later joined the Sanjeev Jeeva gang to start smuggling weapons. Afterwards, he began taking contract work. In 2024, Meerut’s Kankerkhera police arrested him in an attempt-to-murder case and sent him to jail. Additionally, the second accused, Ajay alias Monu, also joined the Jeeva gang and began smuggling arms.

Furthermore, he supplied weapons to members of the Gogi gang, Bhau gang and Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu gang in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, Bhajanpura police in Delhi had arrested Ajay alias Monu in theft cases as well.

SP Suraj Kumar Rai said that the families of Rohan and Ajay, who were arrested in Delhi, moved from their villages to Delhi nearly fifteen years ago. Only their close relatives live in the village now. However, police are checking whether any local youths are in contact with them. If any such person is found, the police will question him.

Two students were arrested in the Disha Patani firing case

In the firing incident at actress Disha Patani’s house in Bareilly, two students from Lohadda and Wazidpur villages of Baghpat were also found involved. Police had announced a reward of one lakh rupees each on them before arresting both. Besides them, several youths from Baghpat have been found linked with major crimes in the past as well.
