After successfully managing major festivals like Durga Puja, Deepotsav, Akshay Navami, and the Parikrama event, the police in Ayodhya are finally breathing a bit easier. However, the next big challenge is already on the horizon — the flag-hoisting ceremony scheduled for November 25, for which rehearsals have begun.
Security Builds for the PM’s Visit
Ayodhya, known as the city of grand celebrations, keeps law enforcement constantly on alert. Over the past month, the workload has intensified as nearly 60 lakh devotees visited the city for various religious events. With those successfully completed — including securing another Guinness World Record — the police have gained some relief, yet the responsibilities are far from over.
The upcoming flag-hoisting event will be the biggest security test yet, as the Prime Minister is expected to attend. With only a few weeks left, intelligence teams have already reached Ayodhya and security planning is underway. Officials are reviewing files from previous prime ministerial visits to ensure seamless arrangements. Specialised security personnel and experienced officers who have previously served in the city are being brought in to fortify preparations, especially around the Ram Temple and other sensitive locations.
Although the official schedule of the PM’s visit hasn’t been released, the alert was triggered immediately after the announcement from the PMO, and all major national security agencies are already on standby.
Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Gaurav Grover stated that after the successful completion of recent religious events, the focus is now on creating a secure and peaceful environment for the upcoming ceremony. “A strong security blueprint is being prepared so every visitor experiences safety and calm in Ayodhya,” he said.
