Why Spend on Diyas Every Year? Learn from Christmas – Akhilesh’s Sharp Attack on Yogi Govt Over Deepotsav

Comment on Hindus Festival is not new, SP and Akhilesh Yadav are known for their anti-Hindu sentiments and have left not a single occasion of humiliating Hindus.

Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party chief, has made sharp comments about the Deepotsav celebrations held in Ayodhya during Diwali. He attacked the Yogi Adityanath government over power cuts, calling the government “completely incompetent.” He stated that people should no longer expect any facilities from this administration. Referring to Christmas, Akhilesh said cities across the globe glow with lights during the festival, and Uttar Pradesh should be no different. But expecting such from this government is pointless, he said.

This is not new, SP and Akhilesh Yadav are known for their anti-Hindu sentiments and have left not a single occasion of humiliating Hindus.

What Akhilesh Said

Using the example of Christmas, Akhilesh stated, “I don’t want to give suggestions, but in Lord Ram’s name, I’ll say this: around the world, cities light up for Christmas and the celebrations last for months. We must learn from them. Why must we spend so much on candles and oil lamps? Why is this even a debate? What can we expect from this government? It should be removed. We will ensure even more beautiful lighting when we are in power.”

However, he forgets that a lot of small businesses are dependent on these celebrations. The small diyas artisans from the state get jobs and earn money for their livelihood.

Sharp Criticism of the Government

Speaking to the press in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav said this government has failed completely, and expecting consistent electricity from it is futile. He said during Christmas the world glows for months, but here in UP, people are forced to celebrate Diwali relying only on lamps and candles. He added that the public must now change the government, as the current one focuses on show-off, not development. He promised that under a Samajwadi Party government, UP would shine in a way that sets an example for the nation.

Dig at Smart City Project

Akhilesh also mocked the Smart City project in Lucknow. He said despite traffic jams and garbage heaps across the city, it was declared the third smartest city. He sarcastically said FIRs should be filed against the officials who made this claim. He criticised the massive expenditure with no traffic control in place, calling it the real face of the BJP’s “smartness.”

Comment on Ayodhya Deepotsav

Akhilesh’s remarks are being linked to the annual Deepotsav in Ayodhya. This celebration began in 2017 after the Yogi government came to power, featuring the lighting of lakhs of earthen lamps. Lighting lamps during Diwali is an age-old tradition and provides employment to potters. However, Akhilesh’s remarks suggest he favours electric lighting over traditional lamps. Akhilesh Yadav was indirectly targeting Hindus, their festivals, and their old traditions. SP is known for its anti-Hindu sentiments.
