The path has been cleared for recruitment to the posts of Headmasters and Assistant Teachers in the state’s government-aided (aided) junior high schools in UP. After the case was settled in the High Court, the Basic Education Department has invited applications from successful candidates of the examination for appointment to the vacant posts. Under this process, recruitment is proposed for 1,262 Assistant Teachers and 255 Headmasters.
According to Basic Education Director Pratap Singh Baghel, the selection examination for aided junior high schools had been pending since 2021, and its revised result was released on September 6, 2022. Now, the qualified candidates will be able to apply on the designated website from November 15 to December 5. From November 3, the website will provide the application format, detailed guidelines, schedule, and other necessary information. After the result was announced in 2022, the matter went to the High Court, and following its resolution, the department has begun the required process. Candidates waiting for recruitment for four years have finally felt a sense of relief.
Information on Vacant Posts in Aided Secondary Schools Sought
The Secondary Education Department has sought information from all districts regarding the likely vacant posts for direct recruitment in government-aided (aided) secondary schools up to March 31, 2026. Secondary Education Director Dr Mahendra Dev has instructed that these vacant posts be included in the requisition to be sent to the Selection Commission and that the information be provided in a timely manner. He has also asked all officials to submit a certificate within two days confirming that all posts for direct recruitment have been included in the requisition.
